Trees & Development
Our aim is to provide our clients with an effective pragmatic solution where trees are considered to be a constraint in the development process.
Trees are a material consideration in the development process, and local planning authorities have a duty to consider them when determining any planning application. Careful consideration can result in a development which satisfactorily retains trees that can add maturity and value to a development. However, poor planning can result in unnecessary tree loss, inappropriate tree retention and undesirable living conditions for both trees and people. Sylva Consulting is regularly instructed by both developers and local individuals who are keen to ensure a satisfactory outcome from the planning process.
We are fully conversant with BS 5837:2012 Trees in Relation to Construction and have a wealth of planning experience gained both as a local authority manager, tree consultant and tree officer so have the expertise and ability to assess and negotiate to a high standard for our clients.
